der dau

Der Dau was established over 50 years ago in New York, by master craftsman, Jose Der. The company built its reputation by using the traditional techniques of master leather artisans and hands-on customer service.  Throughout the decades, Der Dau, Inc. has been a popular destination for exhibitors at the most prestigious horse shows. Today, the company remains family owned and is operated under the tutelage of Jose’s son, Joseph. Der Dau remains dedicated to its legacy of producing the finest riding boots. Each Der Dau boot remains handmade in the United States and is custom built to the exact standards specified by each customer. The company’s overriding commitment for excellence has made its boots the choice for the most discriminating riders — from dedicated equestrian enthusiasts to Olympic medal winners.

Throughout a lifetime of experience riding, training and competing horses, Ricci and Stephanie Desiderio have developed a system for success that few others can attain. Their names are synonymous with the highest level of achievement in the Arabian and hunter/jumper world.

Ricci is an accomplished trainer of both students and horses, and together with Stephanie and their four children has created a dynasty of champions that is unparalleled.

An accomplished hunter rider as a junior, Stephanie Campas Desiderio has spent years learning from the nation's top trainers Stephanie's reputation as a perfectionist rubs off on her students and helps them achieve their goals. Both junior and adult riders praise her for improving their skills at every level.

As a competitor in Arabian-breed shows, Michael has won the most National Championships of any rider in history. After college, Michael decided to become a professional trainer. He is a competitive grand prix rider and trains and coaches at shows. Mike has trained horses and riders to wins at all the most prestigious shows in the country.
